Ahmed Farghal

An engineer, maker, and lifelong learner with 20+ years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems. Currently he's the systems design lead at Restate, an open-source distributed durable execution engine. Prior to Restate, he was a lead engineer at Stripe supporting teams integrating PayPal, Klarna, ApplePay, GooglePay, into Stripe’s network of payment methods. Before Stripe, he spent close to 7 years as a Staff Engineer at Meta at which he led the development of Meta's distributed log storage and streaming-data ingestion infrastructure—LogDevice and Scribe.
